Edison lights!

We installed three Edison chandeliers in the dining room.

We installed a new light fixture over the stairs. Its a jar fixture:

When we bought the house, it started out looking like this:

After taking out all of the shelves and starting painting, we have this:

"new" $4 chandelier!

I found a dated brass 70s chandelier for a mere $4 at a resale shop and painted it black and we put it in the living room and W O W!!!

I covered the old fridge with contact paper OMG!

While I was thankful for the fridge that came with the house, I was totally sick of the off-white color:

So I updated it for little $ by covering it with contact paper~

We have been working on the kitchen and after much deliberation opted for a tile countertop for the main counter, which is not really common these days but is very useful! It can withstand a lot of cooking abuse and heat - plus it is something we wanted to do ourselves. Granite is so predictable... Also, we used some old slate we found at a local antique store (for under $75) to top the bar upper counter.

 painted the floor GOLD!!! This is the intended library/home office

had a sunset or two...

finally finished the flooring in the master bedroom!!!

wallpapered this wall.

found an old bedpost and made a new use for it as a counter support.

put the cement board on the counters.
